(Real!) Student Feedback

“I studied with you and then took the DipTrans exams. I had a terrible sinus infection at the time, and I only passed the Social Science paper. Failing the other two papers was really disappointing, but I kept practising and referring back to my course notes. I decided to work on polishing another source language while I waited to retake the other two papers. I passed the Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru [Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters] exam and I even got a prize. It gave me the boost I needed to resit the two DipTrans papers (General and Business). I remember feeling really stressed out about some computer problems at the exam centre, but this affected all the candidates and not just me! I passed both papers and got my Diploma. ... I’m glad [I took it]. I feel so proud to be able to put DipTrans after my name. The qualification has allowed me to be quite selective about the work that I take on as a freelancer.

I also work in the language services industry as a Project Manager. Part of my role involves onboarding new linguists. I’m always impressed by translators who have passed the DipTrans. I hold it in much higher regard than a Master’s degree.

I enjoyed studying with linguisttraining.com. The course was well structured, and the feedback from my LanguagePartner was extremely helpful.”

Bethan (English <> Welsh Translator)

“In the end I didn't attend the DipTrans exam. However, I need to highlight that taking part in the course was really helpful. I expanded my knowledge and language skills a lot, and I'm able to provide freelance service professionally. I would highly recommend the course.”

IZA, EN <>PL Translator

“I have passed all three papers first time - two distinctions and a merit. Thank you for your support. Please thank my tutor for the support and useful comments.”

JESÚS, EN > ES DipTrans Student 2022

"I found the course very concise and easy to follow while still packing in a lot of useful information. I would definitely recommend it if I had friends who were linguistically-minded. I think that for me, what really made the course stand out was the amount of additional reading materials that are linked to, many of which I found extremely interesting and would not necessarily have chanced upon while doing my own research. I would not have been able to approach the exam with such a strong level of confidence had I not taken the course, and I am sure that taking the course is part of what helped me to gain a Merit and a Distinction in two of the units.”

Katrina, ES > EN

“This course has been extremely useful for me. This is my first elearning course and it has surpassed my expectations. The course is well structured, organised and easy to follow. They are extremely professional ethical, courteous and kind people.”

Rita

“I get on with the course quite well. At the beginning, I found it challenging, but as I get through it, I feel more confident; it's still effortful since I have never had any experience with translation before, but I like taking on the challenge. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for having such a professional tutor, Martha, who has delivered detailed, informative feedback to me. She demonstrates not only a high level of knowledge and professionalism, but also a kind approach to a learner.”

Agnieszka, EN > PL

“The course suited my needs. I really appreciated the vast variety of suggested further readings, especially in the Law area. It really allowed me to deepen my understanding of the translation process and guided my own research. Above all, the corrected translations and the thoroughly detailed feedback I received from my LanguagePartner were extremely helpful.”
