The Introduction to Legal Translation Diploma (ILTD) is a Diploma which has been specifically created as an introductory course for multilingual individuals who are considering moving into or specialising in Legal Translation.
The ILTD represents Level 1 professional level skills in the legal sector and translation for legal requirements.
It is a Level 1 diploma certificate in terms of language skills required for those translating in the UK.
You will learn what to expect on a day-to-day basis - the legal system, legal subject matters and the role and responsibility of a Legal Translator.

The outcome is that you will be able to decide if you wish to continue on the official Legal Translator study route (before you spend thousands of pounds on training) and / or go on to take the CIOLQ DPSI Law, CertTrans or DipTrans qualification.

- ELIGIBILITY : Students are expected to have a high command of their second language (between CEFR C1-C2 level), as well as an excellent command of their first language.
- COURSE START DATE : There is no set start date - you can start whenever you like! You can start and study on the course any time, to suit your schedule. There are no set sessions, meaning that you can study whenever suits you - you simply log in and go! Mentoring Sessions are the only Modules which need to be scheduled.
- FORMAT OF COURSE : All courses are studied online (elearning). After purchase, you will have password-protected access to your course on our learning platform. You will be able to keep track of how far you have got and return to this whenever you wish.
- LENGTH OF COURSE : 24/7 access for a whole 12 months via our online training platform.

There is no external examination for this course. However, there is a Final Diploma Assessment which must be passed successfully to achieve the Diploma.
