    “I have really enjoyed the whole course, I cannot pick a favourite part. The course has given me an overview of the DPSI Law examination and also an understanding of the role of an interpreter in different scenarios, such as when working for the police or in court. I have gained profound knowledge about the legal system in England and Wales. Coupled with this, it has been interesting to learn about different relevant laws; I am sure these would help me in my role as an interpreter in the future. I got a lot of confidence from the session as it's been a little while since I've been ‘in the saddle’, so it felt good to get this session under my belt with a relative lack of trauma! DipTrans Course Feedback

“I studied with you and then took the DipTrans exams. I had a terrible sinus infection at the time, and I only passed the Social Science paper. Failing the other two papers was really disappointing, but I kept practising and referring back to my course notes. I decided to work on polishing another source language while I waited to retake the other two papers. I passed the Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru [Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters] exam and I even got a prize. It gave me the boost I needed to resit the two DipTrans papers (General and Business). I remember feeling really stressed out about some computer problems at the exam centre, but this affected all the candidates and not just me! I passed both papers and got my Diploma. ... I’m glad [I took it]. I feel so proud to be able to put DipTrans after my name. The qualification has allowed me to be quite selective about the work that I take on as a freelancer.

I also work in the language services industry as a Project Manager. Part of my role involves onboarding new linguists. I’m always impressed by translators who have passed the DipTrans. I hold it in much higher regard than a Master’s degree.
