The Level 3 Certificate in Community Interpreting (CCI) is a nationally recognised qualification in the UK, serving as the entry-level standard for paid public service interpreting work. It is considered the minimum requirement for interpreters seeking paid assignments.

About the exam (assessment)

Level : 3

Exam / Assessment Type : Ongoing and Final Assessment (no single exam).

  1. Throughout the guided learning on the course, the learner builds up a portfolio of evidence that covers the relevant assessment criteria.

  2. All units are internally assessed and verified by the centre (linguisttraining.com).

  3. The learner’s portfolio and linguisttraining.com’s assessment are then externally verified by Ofqual-accredited assessors.

  4. Successful assessment provides the learner with the Ofqual-accredited qualification.

Assessment Languages : All language pairs.

Ofqual Accreditation : The qualifications have been developed in accordance with the National Occupational Standards for Interpreters (CFAINT01 – CFAINT09) and are aimed at meeting the needs of learners and employers. The qualifications are regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (Ofqual) in England and are part of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
