The linguisttraining.com Level 3 Certificate in Community Interpreting is a nationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated qualification that is considered the entry-level standard for paid public service interpreting in the UK. Everything is included in one package: comprehensive online learning covering all four units, practical exercises, expert LanguagePartner™ / Assessor support, coursework, and final assessment – all delivered and administered by linguisttraining.com. Successful completion earns you the official Ofqual-accredited qualification, with no separate external exam required.

Is This Course Right for You?
The CCI Qualification is ideal for aspiring Interpreters who are new to community interpreting, and for practising Interpreters who want to formalise their skills with a nationally recognised, Ofqual-accredited qualification. What can I do after the CCI?
The CCI is the starting point for a professional interpreting career. Many of our CCI students go on to take the DPSI – the Level 6 (degree equivalent) qualification for Interpreters working in legal or health settings. linguisttraining.com offers both, so your progression pathway is straightforward.

Online modules
Covering all topics required to achieve the 17 credits for the qualification, across four units:
Language Use in Bilingual Interpreting (3 credits)
Planning and Preparing for the Role of a Bilingual Interpreter (6 credits)
Carry Out Two-Way Interpreting (6 credits)
Provide Sight Translations within Interpreting Assignments (2 credits)
LanguagePartner™ / Assessor support
Our team hand-picks a qualified, experienced LanguagePartner™ for your specific language pair. They guide you through your studies, assess your coursework, and support you throughout.
Coursework and portfolio assessment
As you progress through the course, you build a portfolio of evidence covering the assessment criteria for each unit. All units are internally assessed and verified by linguisttraining.com.
External verification and official qualification
Your completed portfolio and our internal assessment are externally verified by Ofqual-accredited assessors. Successful completion earns you the official Level 3 Certificate in Community Interpreting - a nationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated qualification.
Course length
Approximately 80 hours of Guided Learning Hours (GLH) content, plus a minimum of approximately 90 hours of directed self-study. You have access to the course for 12 months.

Build your portfolio
Throughout the guided learning, you build up a portfolio of evidence covering the assessment criteria for all four units.
Internal assessment and verification
All units are internally assessed and verified by linguisttraining.com and the LanguagePartner™ / Assessor team.
External verification
Your completed portfolio and our internal assessment are externally verified by Ofqual-accredited assessors.
You receive your official qualification
Successful completion awards you the official Ofqual-accredited Level 3 Certificate in Community Interpreting.
The CCI assessment is included in your qualification fee. There are no separate assessment or registration fees to pay to any other organisation.
