COURSES & LESSONS
What does ‘e-learning’ mean?
‘e-learning’ or ‘online learning’ are courses that are available online. linguisttraining.com offers linguists the chance to study from wherever you are in the world, starting whenever you feel ready. We can do this easily, as you are provided with a unique web link and password for each course / lesson, and you access all of the content online, at your own convenience and pace. View our e-learning courses for linguists here.
What resources will be included in the courses?
Each course provides various resources for the lesson content, helping to support your understanding of each subject. These include downloads, reading material, videos and more. Whilst taking each course you will also build a glossary of both English and the other language terms which will become apparent throughout the lessons. You can also have this reviewed and marked by a professionally qualified linguist through purchasing a Translation Practice ‘add-on’.
What does a typical lesson look like?
Lessons vary in content, depending on the subject matter, however examples of lesson content include written information about language skills or the subject matter, additional downloads such as PDF documents and other resources such as videos – these all support your understanding of the particular subject matter in the lesson. Every lesson has at least one exercise to complete with answers provided at the end.
Do you have any student feedback I could read?
Please find feedback from previous and current students on the Student Feedback page.
What do I do if I would like face-to-face support?
We understand! Even though e-learning is very common, we are linguists after all – sometimes we want to talk to someone. This is why we have created face-to-face Skype Sessions that you can book. You will be assigned a Language Partner who will support you. View our Skype Sessions here.
